Nowadays, more and more people are becoming conscious and try to take better care of our Earth. We understand that climate is changing, and want to find out reasons of it and manage this situation.
I think that firstly we have to understand that climate change is happening because of us. One of the main causes of climate change is humanity’s increased use of fossil fuels – such as oil and gas to generate electricity, run cars and other forms of transport, and manufacturing and industry. Another cause is deforestation because living trees absorb and store carbon dioxide. And the last but not least, intensive agriculture, because it emits greenhouse gases.
As a result, the direct consequences of man-made climate change include rising maximum and minimum temperatures, rising sea levels, higher ocean temperatures, an increase in heavy precipitation (heavy rain and hail), shrinking glaciers. The globe is already 1.5°C warmer on average than it was before the Industrial Revolution. Global warming is likely to be the greatest cause of species extinctions this century. Humans and wild animals face new challenges for survival because of climate change. More frequent and intense drought, storms, heat waves, rising sea levels, melting glaciers and warming oceans can directly harm animals, destroy the places they live, and cause destruction on people’s livelihoods and communities.
To sum up, I want to say that we have to do something to stop climate change if we want to leave our planet in safe and sound for our children. We must protect forests, reduce water waste, drive fuel-efficient cars, use less fossil fuels, recycle reusable material and do everything else can help us.
